BRYCON WINS PRESTIGIOUS SSLEA AWARD FOR SAFETY
For the fourth time and the third year in a row, BRYCON has won the coveted Supplier Safety Leadership and Excellence Award for Construction Services from Intel Corporation. The company was informed in early March that it had won the award for 2009. Winning the award is notable for many reasons, not the least of which, is the rigorous standards for safety that companies are held to. For example, the selection committee takes into account field safety and equipment the company employs to keep workers safe; the management’s commitment to safety; and how management encourages field personnel to take “ownership” of safety. In addition, the selection committee also ranks companies on their level of civic and community involvement, their level of charitable giving and the length of time most employees have been with the company. BRYCON’s president, Bill Lemon, said just being considered for the award shows the value the company places on providing a safe, high-quality workplace.
“Intel is a leader in the industry from a safety performance standpoint and has many contractors that are top-notch to choose from,” Lemon said. “This is just another validation of what I already know - BRYCON is No. 1 because of what our people do,” he added.
BRYCON will be formally presented with the award on March 31, 2010 in Anaheim, CA. The company first won the award in 2003, then again in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
