BRYCON WINS EAGLE AWARD FROM ABC NEW MEXICO FOR HOSPITAL RENOVATION
On Oct. 21, BRYCON was presented with the prestigious Eagle Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of New Mexico for its work in renovating and expanding the hospital lobby at CHRISTUS/St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. Project manager, Mike McDonald, was on hand to accept the award, which was presented during a banquet at the Albuquerque Country Club. The project was selected by a panel of four judges over two other larger projects—the construction of the Presbyterian Medical Office building at the new Rust Medical Center on Albuquerque’s West Side and a dental clinic for the University of New Mexico. Architect Doug Majewski and interior designer Ronni DiCappo of The Design Group were also on hand to receive the award. The project was difficult because it required closing the hospital’s entrance for approximately 60 days. However, it completely changed the feel of the hospital, from “dark and dismal” to a well-lit, non-institutional place of healing.
