BRYCON WINS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR RENOVATION OF CONNOR HALL

On Dec. 9 at the annual NAIOP New Mexico Awards of Excellence banquet, BRYCON was presented with an “Eagle Award” for its work on the renovation and addition to Connor Hall. NAIOP is the one of the largest associations of commercial real estate professional in New Mexico and the annual awards banquet usually attracts more than 600 people. The challenging Connor Hall project was completed in 2010 and included major demoliton of half the building while saving the historic facade, that was a landmark in Santa Fe.  The team then constructed a three-story, LEED Gold Certified addition to the building which houses classrooms, computer labs, an art studio and large workshop. The project represented the old and the new because Connor Hall was one of the oldest buildings on campus (built in 1928 as a boys dormitory) and the first building on historic campus to receive a renovation. BRYCON’s president, Bill Lemon, and Keri-Lynn McBride, development director at the New Mexico School for the deaf, accepted the award. It was the third time in 2011 that BRYCON has been honored. Earlier this year, the company received an award from te Association of Builders and Contractors for the renovation and expansion of the lobby and entrance to CHRISTUS/St. Vincent Regional Medical Center.  BRYCON was also honored as an Outstanding Corporation in Philanthropy by the New Mexico chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
