BRYCON WINS 2010 ETHICS IN BUSINESS AWARD
As the perfect kick-off for BRYCON’s 20th anniversary in business, the company was notified that it had won the 2010 Ethics in Business Award. The award is sponsored by the Samaritan Counseling Center, a faith-based behavioral health nonprofit organization, and the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management. The award is given annually to those companies and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate ethical business practices in all their dealings. BRYCON was selected from among 28 companies in the state. Also selected was Armstrong Development of Roswell, NM. The selection culminates a five-month vetting process conducted by students enrolled in an ethics class at the Anderson School of Management. The students interviewed management, employees, neighboring companies, vendors and subcontractors to make sure BRYCON conducted its activities in a fair, above-board and ethical manner. The award was presented at a banquet on April 12 at the Hotel Albuquerque. More than 500 people have attended the banquet annually since the event began in 2000. BRYCON’s president, Bill Lemon, said the award is an acknowledgement of the way the company has always done business. “It’s a great honor,” he said of the recognition.
