BRYCON TO PROVIDE MUCH-NEEDED FACELIFT FOR ARIZONA SCIENCE CENTER
After three years of planning, the Arizona Science Center is finally moving ahead with a much-needed upgrade to its entrance and lobby. BRYCON was selected as the general contractor to provide the improvements, which include selected demolition and remodeling. Improvements include construction of an air conditioned area for visitors to wait while purchasing tickets, improved access for visitors with disablities and increased areas for school groups. Approximately 400,000 visitors tour the Science Center every year. Demolition began on March 9 and is expected to last three months, during which time guests will use temporary entrances and exits. Construction should be complete by the end of the year. The preconstruction manager for the project, Scott Dluzen, said the company is “excited to be part of the team making important accessibility improvements to the Science Center.”
