BRYCON INVESTING IN PRODUCTIVITY TRAINING
For the second year, BRYCON has signed up employees to take intensive one-day seminars on productivity and productivity tracking. The seminars are taught by construction consultant Michael Brunner of Indiana, whose company is called Construction Consulting Services. Brunner, a nationally recognized leader in efficiency and an exciting motivational speaker, taught 40 members of the New Mexico Facilities Construction Group and Rio Rancho semiconductor staffs about effective preparation, waste and how time equals money. This year, the attendees were field personnel from the electrical, plumbing and architectural trades. Part of the training included learning how to read a basic company income statement and learning how to recognize “productive time” versus “nonproductive time.” After the seminars, most attendees reported the seminars were both informative and entertaining. According to Paul Briggs, the Facilities Construction Group Division Manager, such training is important for helping employees learn to better manage their time on the job and to think about small ways they can improve performance.
“It’s our belief that productivity training has benefits for the company and for our clients,” said Briggs. “We see benefits in cost savings, efficiency and in employee incentives.”
Arizona field employees are also taking the productivity seminars.
