BRYCON and NutraCea Team On Phoenix Production Facility

The Phoenix-based company, NutraCea recently selected BRYCON Construction in Chandler, AZ for a Design-Assist Construction Manager at Risk contract. Under the contract, BRYCON will manage the expansion and remodeling of an existing, seven-year-old, 124,000 sq. ft. plant in Phoenix. BRYCON selected Deutsch Architectural Group to design the expansion. When the plant expansion is completed in October of this year, it will initially produce 5,000 tons annually of rice-bran baby cereal products. NutraCea is a world leader in the technology and production of stabilized rice bran, which is a highly nutritious byproduct of the rice milling process. Stabilized rice bran is used in “nutraceuticals” and as a nutritious ingredient in baked goods, energy bars, baby cereal and petfood. When the Phoenix plant is fully built-out, it will be able to produce 10,000 tons annually of stabilized rice bran products.

According to the NutraCea website (http://www.nutracea.com), the production facility at 4502 West Monterosa Street, will also serve as a warehouse for raw materials and finished products ready for shipping. NUtraCea has facilities in California, Montana, Louisiana, Texas and overseas. The company headquarters is in Phoenix.
